I'm well aware of Alzado's impact, moreso for the Raiders than the Broncos, but can anyone really be better for the Broncos than Elway?
Alzado played the majority of his career as a Bronco (1971-78 seasons) - not as a Raider (or Brown, his other team). Now he did have a huge impact in beating the Raiders a few times, particularly in the Orange Crush season of 1977.

As a Bronco, Lyle was in the Pro Bowl twice, all-pro ftwice, 2nd team all pro once, all AFC five times, and AFC Player of the year in 1977. He won one award as a Brown, 2nd team all AFC, and one as a Raider - AFC Comeback player of the year in 1982.

But as stated - Elway had the 16-year impact as the Bronco quarterback. Noone beats Elway overall in Denver.
