yeah, but neither league you speak of is the National Football League. its just different, the fans are different.
Many of the same people are casual fans of the other leagues.

The MLB used to be on top.

During the 80's and early 90's, the NBA was rivaling the NFL, and was thought to possible overtake the top spot in a few years - didn't happen.

The NFL can't afford to assume that they will remain on top. Complacency means that they will fall from grace.

In my opinion, Goodell is doing a good job. Cracking down on the players is critical - they ARE your product. But the cheating has to be cut out, or the NFL could be in danger of going the way of the NHL.
