Oh Christ. Put it in perspective. It's his job. Would you tell your wife she had to skip her best friend's wedding to come watch you at work the day before a big layoff?

He's saying his life is more important than hers. And that is unacceptable.

lets clarify, they said "one of her best friends" not her best friend, and they probably only used that word to make the story more dramatic. and youre damn right what he was doing was more important than a friggin wedding, chances are, she doesnt work, because he plays football. she owes him that game at the very least.
