It's the gambling and animal fighting and the conspiracy to commit those crimes he's accused of. This is the exact type of shit the feds get off on nailing people for. Crossing state lines made this a huge mess for him.

So if he did all of this in the same state and never left, he wouldn't be as screwed as he is? Crossing state lines is such a minor thing in the crimes that he really committed.
