What does NO do besides tourism? How do you attract tourism with nothing open? With nothing open, how do people have jobs? If nobody has jobs, how do people get paid to rebuild and live in NOLA?
N.O. was one of the poorest if not THE poorest cities in America. What does the tourism do for the majority of the people there? Nothing.

What does reopening the superdome do for the majoirty of the people there?

Nothing

And look at this statistic. 67% of the people of N.O. were African American. What 70, 80, 90% of the people in that dome were white? You tell me how the people directly affected by the levees breaking were there to see that dome reopening? They couldn't afford a bus to get out of the 9th ward. Little on a ticket to see the saints play

It was a feel good story for the rest of the country and maybe a few affected by katrina. But for the majority of the people there I can't see it really helping.

And think about this. What is N.O. known for music wise? Jazz mainly and a lot of hip hop artist come from there as well. What bands do they bring to 'help the people of New Orleans'? U2 and Green Day. Seriously. Give me a freagin break.
