That's ludicrous.

They have no plan to keep him at the current wage.

If he gets hurt, they HAVE to keep him at the current wage - it's a CBA thing.

Therefore, you remove the possibility of him having a football-related injury. If he has a non-football injury, the rules are different.
That's just my opinion. Whether or not it's correct given the current legislation by the organizations governing body is a whole other story.
