How is rushing yards figured for a QB is it always when he crosses the line of scrimage and then it is considerd a run? if he is sacked does it take away his total rushing yards or not considerd a run.

i know most of you can figure out why I ask this but for the slow ones the reason is.

Mike Vick has 800 rushing yards and that is quite a acomplishment for a QB. But he has also been sacked 44 times for a 243 yards that is a 5.5 average per sack.

do that take that yardage from his rushing that would put him closer to 643 or do they leave the rushing that is over the total.

now 643 yards is still good for a Qb for rushing just wondeing how the number are actualy figured.
