Maldonado was most likely going to pass Hamilton** and was closing on Raikkonen.

That was on lap 55 of 57.

**...but chose to drive into the side of him from off the track anyway.
He was quite a few seconds off Kimi, he was never going to catch him. The only reason why had closed on Kimi was because Hamilton had slowed Kimi. So you are wrong, wrong and once again, wrong.
