If Bode Miller wasn't overhyped, nobody would care. And thus, I don't care because I didn't know who he was before, during, or after the Olympics.

Get over it. U.S. didn't win the medal count. So what? It's not always about winning in the Olympics. It's about a fair international competition that everyone has a chance of winning. It's about underdog stories. It's actually about the expected winner losing. That's what makes the Olympics even more exciting. And just because the U.S. was on the losing end makes it different? Nope.
Actually, considering our history in the Winter Games, this was one of the best the U.S. has ever fielded. The U.S. has done pretty well over the years and won a fair share of Summer Games, but only won once in the Winter Games, way back in 1932. In fact, this season, the medal count of 28 represented the second best medal count for the U.S. ever in the Winter Olympics (we won 34 in 2002, for second place).

I thought it was a great effort and very entertaining. There are guys like Bode around all the time, hyped up to be a bit better than they really are. That's a part of sports.
