I think that most people try too much at first and just burn out. A few tips for making exercise a true habit.

1. Try to find a time that you can go consistantly, without constantly rearranging your schedule. Early morning, or right after work (take your workout clothes with you so you don't have to stop home).

2. Plan your schedule ahead of time and mark it on a calendar or chart. It helps motivation when you're following a specific schedule.

3. Commit to 3 weeks. It takes at least 3 weeks for a habit to form. If you start out by committing to just 3 weeks, it will get easier after that. Your next milestone to go for will be 100 days. That's when it is engrained.

4. Oh, and if you're walking, running, cycling, swimming, elliptical or stairmaster (or anything else with distance measuring), log your miles in the Nova Scotia Challenge thread )

Good luck
