I honestly can't see big Pharma's role at all when it comes to autologous stem cell treatments unless it would be something that would be added to the cells that they could produce to enhance them. They could play a role as suggested in that stem cells can be used to develop new drugs, but I am sure they are fearful that new drugs won't be playing a significant role if stem cell therapy becomes the Holy Grail of medicine like many predict it will. They may have a market in 3rd world countries and there may also be some conditions that do not respond to stem cell treatment. They need to put their fear to better use than using it to prolong the process of legalization of autologous stem cell treatment in the U.S. I believe they are playing a major role which is costing lives.
