Swing thought
Sometimes just having a single swing thought can change my game. I've been playing really shitty lately and I've lost my enthusiasm for the game. I go to the range to work on things and it just nevre translates to the course.
Yesterday, I was going through the same old-same old, missing greens and making double bogies (I've been driving the ball great, which is very frustrating when I can't hit a green from the middle of the fairway). I was 10 over par after 7 holes and was bemoaning my game, when one of my playing partners told me that he noticed I was shuffling my feet when I tried to hit an iron into the 7th green. So, on the next hole I concentrated on keeping my feet planted until I got through the hitting area and I hit a solid shot 15 feet from the hole. I then went 2 over par for the next 11 holes (with a double bogie thrown in there). It could have been even better, as I power-lipped out two birdie putts.
Every shot I hit (Except for one drive that I sliced into a water hazard) was solidly struck and I was not only hitting greens, I was hitting it close. Now I can't wait to get back on the course, when yesterday I was almost dreading it.
