I couldn't figure out why all my irons were ten or more yards less in distance. I moved about an inch or two closer to the ball and now i have the distance back. The funny thing is, even though I was shorter on my shots, they were right at the pin, I lost that when I moved closer to the ball. So I took a little stronger grip, and now my irons are longer and straighter...until the next game.
I was reading Ben Hogan's Five Lessons yesterday on a rainy afternoon (when I should have been on the course). Good stuff if you are fighting a hook but that's not my problem. I am more inclined to push-cut than anything else. But the stuff on the grip and stance is gold.
