It's a nice idea, but this makes the basic assumption that alien life will be anything like human life, and that their society will have evolved and developed in much the same way as ours.

I think the possibilities when it comes to life on other planets is vast - if we did ever meet another form of life that actually resembled us then wow, you know? What are the chances of that?
