There is only one constant, and it is time. Not distance,if you see what I mean This constant that you refer to is obviously the SPEED of light, If I am not mistaken that is a measure of both distance & time (300,000 km per second).... but once again it is a man made reference, light travels at that speed, it is not a magical thing, just the speed of light - why then don't we see the distance of 300,000 km as something magical?
