It isn't the sodas fault. It's the sugar in the soda just like a gazillion other things we swallow every day. It doesn't matter where the sugar comes from... sugar is sugar... white , brown or otherwise. That said, soda does contain a hell of a lot of it.

Being a diabetic has taught me to read labels on food packaging and I have to tell you I'm amazed what products actually contain sugar. It's fucking everywhere. Even soup. Cans of bloody soup and some have amazing amounts. Pork & beans.. everybody loves 'em especially with a hot dog right. I can't eat 'em because of the amount of sugar in 'em.

Don't believe me.... pick almost any item off your grocers shelf and read the label.



So am I.
I think the main problem is with high fructose corn syrup. There has been a corresponding rise in diabetes and obesity since it has been introduced and more and more sweetened products switched to it as a sweetener rather than sucrose. It seems like the body cant handle massive quantities of fructose.
Of course, moderation is the key.
