I haven't tried it and i don't plan on it...

I was just curious about the soy sauce and the reasoning behind it. I don't want to try it out and jeopardize how well I've done thus far... it was just simple curiosity
Your first paragraph reads a bit like you are feeling the need to defend yourself against my reply. I am in no way saying that you are trying/planning on it, just answering your "Thoughts????" query with my thoughts on deviating from the protocol for whatever reason.

My personal rational comes from the fact that I am a person that is not good at moderation, so I'm a fan of anything I can lock in without needing to worry about it too much (that's why P2 so was so much nicer than P3 for me, even though P2 is so crazily bland and restrictive). Following Dr. Simeons' protocol (that works) is not only the safest route (I think I would cry if a simple change I made to ease my burden negated the benefit I could have gained from sticking to P&I as canon), but it also leaves time to go off and do other things that have nothing to do with food in the hopes of resetting one's relationship with food.

Speaking as to the why...not sure, maybe soy was not as readily accessible, or was too expensive, or fermented white beans become evil when they darken, or the salt content, or the need for a specific carb, or Dr. Simeons owned stock in grissino bread
