My german shepherd will eat cat poo, but nothing else so far.

Although I have to say.... the first time I went to see the puppies the mother walked around the room and was ahem, "cleaning up", after the puppies. A bit gross!

It doesn't seem to have ever given my GSD a bad stomach so far.

I'm not sure about making him stop it - perhaps if you take his favourite treat and just call him when he starts going towards it and offer him something better?
