My chihuahua, Daisy, did that too for a while. I had no idea how it started or why. I didn't even notice that she was doing it until she actually brought in some poo one day and ate it in front of us. I have to say that I was grossed out by this. It got to the point where she only wanted to eat the poo and not her own food. I became a bit concerned so I went to the store and bought some medicine. I had to force feed her the tablets but after taking a few of them she toned down on the poo consumption and I don't think she does it anymore.
