My cats all go outside. My garden backs onto other gardens so it's an enclosed space for them, and most of my neighbours are cat lovers so I'm not too worried about them. Obviously there's still risk of traffic accidents but so far (touches wood) they don't like to go round the front, I think they've got plenty to keep them occupied in various people's gardens so they tend to stay fairly close.
