I suppose its more of a real time RSS feed.

I purely use it for market specific information, for instance I make home brew beer.. so I follow other brewers and see what they are up to.. I often find out about things happening in that market before it's written and published in an RSS feed.

Recently I have been using it to get deals and discounts on products.. if you follow large vendors like Dell, HP, Apple, or even cashback deal websites - you get instant notice when a deal is offered.
