I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with the Rich Dad books; Jo I was the same as you after reading one of his books I bought about 6 of them and read them all through and thought they were great and still do.

I then went to one of his seminars here in London and it was an extremely hard sell from him and his team to buy his education and property investing courses for a couple of thousand dollars a go, so much so that they almost didn't let you leave unless you handed over your credit card! I managed to escape, but heard of people who did the course and said even that was a hard sell to buy another more advanced course!

So back to original questions, I think I have always had this sort of mindset but it was just never unlocked.. when I was 15 I started selling computers to kids at school from parts I bought at swap meets, this made me some cash to have fun with, but then I was forced on the 9-5 trail.. during which I did run businesses on the side.

The time I think it was really unlocked was when I was flying to Europe for work, I grabbed a copy of Richard Branson's 'Screw it Lets do it' book and it really hit home, that if I was to get where I wanted to that I really needed to change my lifestyle and make it work for me and not someone else!

I tend to believe you are born with an entrepreneurial mindset and it is always something that is niggling in the back of your mind.. you just need something to give it a kick start!
