A FATHER who killed six people including his wife and young children in the Jersey knife massacre may have gone berserk because his wife was cheating on him, it emerged yesterday.

As Polish migrant Damian Rzeszowski, 30, was held under armed guard in hospital after trying to kill himself, friends said that his marriage problems may be connected to the slaughter.

**They just returned from a reconciliation vacation.

The victims of the massacre in St Helier were his daughter Kinga, six, and son Kasper, 18 months. Izabela’s father Marek Garstki, a friend Marta de la Haye and her daughter Julia, five, also died.

Kasia Krajewska, a friend of Rzeszowski’s 30-year-old wife Izabela, said he had first tried to kill himself a month ago after discovering she was having an affair.

**He elected to take himself out of the picture/pain via suicide attempt.

Ms Krajewska said that after he recovered from an overdose of 80 tablets, Izabela promised she would end the fling and the couple went away for a reconciliation holiday.
