New here, introduction.
Hello
I am new here, it's so nice to find a place with information and support. I am a 36 year old woman, with three kids 18, 15, and 8. I have been married for just about 18 years now.
Just about 6 years ago, I was at 115 lbs and began to rapidly gain weight for no apparent reason, no diet changes and no activity level changes. I have been to so many doctors I can't even count how many I've seen. I have finally found a good one, and been diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome. Weight gain has been only one symptom of many!
Today I am 230 lbs, and I have been in induction for over a week now. So far so good. I have been on atkins before, for almost 7 months and I lost about 30 lbs. I hit a point where the weight loss stopped and I became very frustrated and stupidly quit the atkins diet.
I am not into sweets, for some weird reason way before this weight gain, I lost my sweet tooth, I just couldn't eat more than one bite of foods like cake or ice cream. Although, I do like pasta, pizzas, potatoes, and breads. Lately for the first time in my life i began to crave milk too. Possibly because I am very deficient in vitamin D, which my Dr. is treating. I have been able to stop drinking milk thank goodness...lol.
I know in the past I have made excuses as to why I could eat high carb foods, always putting off going back on the atkins plan, one more pizza day... we don't have enough meat... but these were excuses that led me to gain back all I had lost on atkins before plus 30 lbs.
I am about to go back to work after 13 years of being a homemaker. I have to work nightshift, and I also am very active in my youngest sons schooling, due to the fact he is in cyber school, I work with his teacher to ensure he is learning as he should.....which has been no problem.
That is pretty much a picture of my life at the moment, I'm so sorry it's such a long and boring post. It is so nice to meet you all. And here is to another no carb day!!!
