BSG is one of my favorite TV series of all time. Personally I think if you try to over-analyze any TV show there are going to be inconsistencies and such. Plus, by reading articles and such about the series you're spoiling the show, because part of the great part about it was not knowing the how's and why's and learning them as you watched the show. You've spoiled a big part of the last season by finding out the human cylons were created by humans on Kobol.

My advice: it's fiction... accept it and enjoy it for what it is.
