Not at all. It is merely a nuanced position. Any liberal should understand nuance.

Personally, I am in favor of legal recognized gay unions. But I am opposed to changing the meaning of the word 'marriage'. AFAIC, A marriage is between one man and one woman. When an existing marriage ends by divorce or death, either party to the defunct marriage is eligible for another marriage. Of course, in the case of death, only the living party is eligible for remarriage. However, the dead partner can vote as long as he/she is a registered Democrat.
I'll bet you don't have one of those stickers on your car, however, and the people that do don't support civil unions. They're defending the country against a radical gay agenda.

PS: I also support dead Democrats voting.
