There are ~ 1,060,000,000 shares of common Haliburton stock (http://stocks.us.reuters.com/stocks/...ments&period=Q)

Soros bought 1,900,000 shares.

0.2% is one heck of a controlling interest.

Halliburton has a market cap of 30 billion.
Soros is worth 8 billion, and he controls a lot of hedge funds, it's not inconceivable that he could put a leveraged buy out together.
And starting the effort by buying a couple of million shares is just how it would begin.
