Having a standing president as the recently departed governor's brother for years certainly didn't hinder Florida's position on the federal food chain.
Possibly, but then what about the people on the Mississippi and Alabama coasts who got smacked by the hurricane. The Mississippi coast got it worse than Louisiana did. The towns and cities in AL and MS are practically back to 100% full recovery now as well as the New Orleans suburbs, yet New Orleans is nowhere close.

Why do you suppose that is?
