It always did, this is just more proof. The invasion and occupation was about getting at the oil in Iraq, nothing more nuanced than that. Now there's a government installed that will open Iraq's oil to western - note western not American - oil companies.

Time for Bush to get that Mission Accomplished banner out, it's nearly ready for another showing.

France can get oil from Iraq, Germany can get oil from Iraq, and any other country that was against the war can get oil from Iraq. If we (America) went into Iraq simply for oil, why are we letting these other countries have any? Why isn't it simply going to us and our allies?
