I am betwix 'n between on this issue. On one hand, it is possible that the English are just as sick of this unending situation as the most of the Americans, and this is sinply a first step to pulling out completely. IF so, why are they going to take till 08 to get completely out?

On the other hand. (the six finger ploy) HEH HEH

It is possible that they really "DO" think things are going well for their area, and thus can afford to throttle down. But here also is a question. IF so, why aren't these troops being deployed to Bagdad to help out there???
Emphasis mine.

Therein lies the answer to your conundrum my brother.

They are getting out because the British people DEMAND that they get out .. which, by the way, is how America will get out. The 2006 elections was the start of that rebellion to force our politicians to get the hell out of Iraq.

It is no different than Vietnam. The American people got us out, not politicians.
