I am far from independent? How so? Because as far as I'm concerned, I know I don't like Republicans and I think Democrats can be oretty sneaky as well. Thus, that makes me independent from any political party. I'm not even registered to vote. THAT's how independent I am.

Yeah, sure and I'm Santa Claus. You are a (non-voting, unregistered) liberal/socialist. Most Liberals and Socialists in the USA are Democrats. They may call themselves independent and indeed a few are actually independent, but very few, and you are not one of them. When you exclude the only other viable party completely and would never consider voting for a Republican, you are by default a Democrat. It's Ok IM, there is a twelve step program that can help you. Its called "Liberals Anonymous". First step - admit you are powerless over your urge to take from others via confiscatory taxation. Step two - stop living in denial. Step three - read anything by Milton Friedman. Step four.....
