John Edwards' plan for Health Insurance
My friend just sent me this email.
Dear Samantha,
Hi! I just signed up as a supporter of John Edwards' plan for universal health care, and I'm hoping you'll do the same.
It's about time someone came out with a clear, bold plan that will make sure every single American gets top quality health care at prices we can actually afford. Now that John Edwards has stepped up, those of us who support universal health care have to speak out.
This kind of huge change can't happen from the top down. The whole idea is that we are all responsible - responsible for our national health care system, and responsible for building the popular support we need to make it happen.
To begin, just sign up as a supporter at:
John Edwards for President - Stand Up for Universal Health Care
Then, join me in pledging to talk to just three other people this week about Edwards' plan for universal health care. Just by having these crucial conversations, we can each start moving America in a better direction. As Edwards always says: tomorrow begins today.
Sincerely,
Scott I am going to guess that at least three people will read this so I've fulfilled my pledge
Here is his plan:
Under the Edwards Plan:
Families without insurance will get coverage at an affordable price.
Families with insurance will pay less and get more security and choices.
Businesses and other employers will find it cheaper and easier to insure their workers.
The Edwards Plan achieves universal coverage by:
Requiring businesses and other employers to either cover their employees or help finance their health insurance.
Making insurance affordable by creating new tax credits, expanding Medicaid and SCHIP, reforming insurance laws, and taking innovative steps to contain health care costs.
Creating regional "Health Markets" to let every American share the bargaining power to purchase an affordable, high-quality health plan, increase choices among insurance plans, and cut costs for businesses offering insurance.
Once these steps have been taken, requiring all American residents to get insurance.
Securing universal healthcare for every American will require the active involvement of millions of Americans.
John Edwards for President
