Well, no, actually what I did was read the information about the Nobel Peace Prize that you posted - you know, the parts about "global concerns" and "new concerns"?

The quote also included (and I also included in my earlier response):

I mean, one would think he'd be nominated for one of the... you know... science prizes.

Good point. I have nothing to do with how people are nominated for what awards, but perhaps the thinking was that, since Gore didn't work in or develop anything in the sciences, but rather, has been instrumental in spreading the word about global warming, that a strictly science type of award would not be appropriate. But that's just a guess.
