No, no, the electric car was the solution to every problem on earth.

So what if it had a very short range and was completely useless in the cold?

Only people who live in cities where it is warm need cars anyway. Screw everyone else!

It's hilarious that if we ever bring up oil prices, gas prices, energy in general, the typical liberal response is the electric car. We all should be driving them. What's wrong with you people...don't you care about the environment? Don't you want to be energy independent? Don't you care about your kids future for God's sake?

Back to the point. Iron, where do you think the energy comes from that would allow you to charge your electric car? And please don't come back with "well, we should have alternative sources like wind power, solar power and cow farts" because those are not cost effective yet. You wouldn't be able to afford your electric car if you had to rely on those sources for the energy...not to mention their is no infrastructure. And please stop with the Al Gore would have fixed everything crap. The hot air coming from Al Gore is the true cause of global warming.

Bottom line is the Saudis are going to do what is best for them. We wouldn't do anything different. I'm not saying I like it but it's the way thing are. You want to do something about it? Allow the energy companies to make whatever profit they need so they can research and develop new and alternative energy sources. Allow then to build new plants and refineries. Keep the government and the environmental brain stems out of it. As several other posters have said, the Democrats have done more to keep this country reliant on foreign oil than any Bush/Saudi tinfoil hat conspiracy ever could.
