This should serve as a lesson for those that believe in the nanny-state. It seems Boston's elitists are so naive, that it's possible to cause panic and basically shut the city down by hanging a few "LiteBrite" children's toys in various places. Is this the kind of overbearing panic that we wish to relinquish our freedoms to? Thank God a car didn't backfire during all this panic.
I don't think this is quite the case of a 'nanny state' I think we can agree that bomb disposal is a role for the government to fulfill, when there is a legitimate threat. The problem is that this is not a legitimate threat nor could be conceived to be by any rational individual, not that it is government encroaching on an area best filled by the private sector.
