You seem to have this notion (like a lot of righties) that only stupid, lazy, or uneducated people have minimum wage jobs. I have to say you have little grasp on what it is to need a "minimum wage" type job on the way to your goals in life. You have to be able to eat and house yourself or your family, on your way to the american dream, don't you? It's like a guy I know from church. He told me, "You know, I'd rather pull myself up by the bootstraps, work my ass off to better myself and give my kids a better opportunity. But, I'd much rather do that, and feed/clothe them at the same time."

In a perfect world, were people don't get too greedy, we wouldn't need minimum wage laws. But in the real world, because people can't agree on what "too greedy" is, we need a minimum wage law.

sooo the minimum wage is supposed to be a living wage? I beg to differ.

On the Pelosi angle regards freebies and allowances to her own and herself… Its par for the course….they all do it but she especially hypercritical in doing so….She always makes statements that, “with us”, (dems)the environment is not an issue, it’s an ethic, it’s a value really??……. So here we go, from free republic-

In order to get approval to build on these 275 acres, they had to comply with some very stringent county environmental regulations. Now the California tiger salamander and the Western pond turtle are apparently endangered species and they’re very, very common on these 275 acres that the Pelosis wanted to develop.

So the agreement they struck with local regulators was, we’ll build the golf course, we’ll set up some holding ponds and we’ll create a natural habitat to make sure that these environmental endangered species survive.

(question- would a republican get this kind of variance? Ha…don’t make me laugh…. the media would keel haul him for even asking…and we alllll know it)…

Of course, they built the golf course. It opened in 2000. If you want to join, the membership is $250,000. But they never followed the environmental regulations. The ponds were never built for these endangered species. For seven years, they also failed to file any of the environmental reports required by the California Fish and Wildlife Commission. A 2004 County Environmental Compliance Report found all kinds of environmental problems on the Pelosis’ golf course”.

And of course her refusal to allow her workers at her restaurants and vineyards out here to unionize…….she seems to be among those rich corp. type employers who financially benefit from a steady supply of cheap foreign labor…..hummmm…..Pelosi, was the winner of the 2003 Cesar Chavez award from the United Farm Workers, but hires only nonunion workers and sells these grapes to nonunion wineries…how weird and ridiculous is that?

but its all good, she sang; “ look for the union label” to her grandkids..one of whom I am sure will run for pres. and tell us about that…at least the song will have been written then …….hahahahhahahahhahhahhahahha sorry had to do it..silly yes ..but I could not resist.
