can the detractors please explain exactly what is so incorrect about carter's assesment of the situation? is israel not confiscating palestinian land, dividing what territory they have left, and severely restricting economic opportunity? and not in the book, but more recently, resuming the building of settlements? do you guys just have a problem with the title or do you really have issue with the accuracy of the information in the book? i haven't read it either but i have read excerpts. and everything so far seems right on the money. i think people are getting their panites in a bunch because israel gets so much of its support from the US and might as well be considerend a 51st state. its as if americans take any criticism of israel as if it were criticism of the US. i'm sure thats in no small part because of powerful lobbying groups like AIPAC, which, by the way, is exempt from the new lobbying reform legislation. funny isn't it?
