I think a lot of this nation's problems can be laid at the feet of gradually giving away our national identity. Forget "under God", I'm genuinely surprised NBC even aired an edited version of The Pledge of Allegiance or referred to the event as the U.S. Open. I think we're only a few years away from both of those being dropped completely because it offends someone out there.

Heck, I worked for a Congressman a few years ago who instructed us not to wish people a Happy Thanksgiving on the grounds that it was insensitive to people who didn't immigrant from Europe.
