I don't know about that. Don't a lot of hackers pride themselves in being able to cover their tracks and remain anonymous?
That's the thing, it seems that hackers have a bit of a leg up on law enforcement, with far more of them getting away with the crime than getting caught. Sure, you'll see headlines about hackers getting busted here and there, but they're such a tiny portion of the folks doing these things that it doesn't make much difference. It's just for show.

Heck, Lulzsec formed, attacked a bunch of sites for a few months, then got bored and disbanded. Doesn't exactly put confidence in law enforcement's ability to fight these guys.
