I don't know why McCotter is running. His chance of actually gaining the nomination is less than zero. Is he doing a Gephardt aka 1988, ie hoping that a reasonable run will set him up in the House leadership; or is he hoping to increase his name recognition and fundraising, and then switch to challenge Stabenow?
