Well, a Presidential run increases name recognition no matter what, and it increases prestige if he does even a little better than expected. But I think his motivation for running is that there aren't any other candidates quite like him. And he will gain some following if he can get his message out. There is definitely a niche in the Republican electorate for his brand of populism.

If I had to predict, I'd say he actually wins a few delegates, becomes more well known, and yes, runs for Senate. But not against Stabenow. I suspect Levin won't run for reelection and McCotter will go for that vacant seat in 2014.
