Newt Gingrich brings in some baggage to the situation of course. His personal life is bound to come up making it unlikely that he will escape the primary with all that much percentage of the vote. However if he does somehow make it out of the primary as a front runner, I am not sure he has much prayer at being able to win against Obama. In my opinion, it is unlikely he will take much of the independent vote with him. When he actually does announce on Wednesday, it will be a sad day for the GOP with a good deal of laughter coming from his political opposition.
