I think you're giving them too much credit, honestly.

Neither party seems that capable of planning anything at the moment.

Neither party you say, nice try, the Dem's want to continue their borrow and spend policy and the Pub's want to cut spending. Huge difference, and you say neither party is capable of planning anything at the moment. Your right about one side the Dem's are not capable of planning anything except more borrow and spending.
