PP has a huge amount of programs for woman & MEN who otherwise would not have any healthcare at all. GOP is bitching over the fact they might be funding abortions, when they're not, but they can't prove it other than the fact there are religious protesters around PP and the GOP is pressured to stop all funding.

Again, it is healthcare for the poor. So a crackhead prostitute gets pregnant, has aids, and PP is her only option because she doesn't have insurance. If someone raising a child at $10/hour and doesn't have insurance, they're limited to what they can afford. This is one one option.

But it goes beyond that. The GOP wants to cut federal funding to family planned, including Planned Parenthood. Low cost Birth Control for some.
PP has said only 3% of their total healthcare services go toward abortion.
They do receive about $363 million from Title X program and Medicaid. Title X was started by Richard Nixon in 1970.

To me, it is similar to prohibition of alcohol and the political pressure that led up to it. Once it passed, there was a complete black market of it. It's all political, and has nothing to do with the budget.

If your so into planned Parenthood then you can contribute but I don't want my tax dollars going there, nor do I want them going to Public Radio.

Planned Parenthood can live off of donors but not my tax dollars. Simple as that. Hell there are nonprofit organizations all over the US, food banks etc, it can get funded the say way or go out of business. States have state assistance, emergency rooms, Medicaid, etc. there is plenty of help out there and not funding PP is not the end of the world. And that is all they do is perform abortions not much of anything else.
