This tactic was obviously illegal, otherwise they would have used it at the outset. It broke the 24-hour public meeting law in Wisconsin, and it broke the the law requiring a quorum for all budget-related bills. It'll never stand. So the Republicans resorted to an obviously illegal tactic to push through a bill that has very little support in the state and evokes outrage in the majority of voters. They used outrageous tactics to pass their outrageous bill. At the very best, a short-term, pyrrhic "victory." Think it's going to come back to bite them? Yeah, I reckon. The American public is finally, finally waking up to what modern-day Republicans are really all about.
