Some interesting things to me.
The civilian non-institutionalized population: 238,715,000.
The civilian non-institutionalized population: 238,851,000.

Population increased, which of course is expected. But then look at the labor force

The civilian labor force: 154,007,00.
The civilian labor force: 153,246,00.

The labor force decreased by over half as much as the population increased. Does this make sense to you? Looks like people are disappearing off the books.
The Baby Boomers are retiring, that's why the social security surplus has turned to a deficit. That means a larger retiree population, and a smaller workforce.
