Here's a tip. Get railroad ties and build the beds up off the ground a bit. Makes weeding, picking things a lot easier.

Yeah, I have to run the ties by the HOA; IIRC they're specifically prohibited by the covenants (I'll have to check). I'm definitely going to raise the vegetable beds and do dark frames to allow the sun to warm the soil. Plus, given CO's crappy clay soil, that'll allow me to work in some good humus.
