It's only a marginally positive jobs report. The encouraging thing is that self-employment numbers jumped, and that had it not been for the weather, it looks like the number of 36,000 would have jumped as well, so hopefully February is kind to people. Still, there are 14 million Americans without jobs, and the number of people who've stopped searching has jumped as well as many people are going back to school to upgrade their skills. The worst is over, but the country really needs a plan to put many of those 14 million back to work, a good deal of those people being white and over 45, blue collar, who lost their manufacturing jobs to overseas markets.
