Well, it appears that Mubarak's lust for power has overruled his common sense...

So sad! This cannot possibly end well!

I'm afraid there will be a lot of blood in the near future, and a "chaotic" transition will put more power in the hands of the Muslim Brotherhood than a more level transition would have!

Mubarak is so old that he probably thinks (if he is still able to think!) that he has nothing to lose and he wants to go down fighting!

But that is NOT good for his people or for anyone else in that region!
