Wonder if Iran not having a "central bank" has anything to do with it. Do TPTB think the deposed shah had a gold stash the elite are eyeballing? Wouldn't surprise me.

It has everything to do with it.

Edit: It's the same reason why we still have a trade embargo with Cuba.
